Cybersecurity training plays an important role in updating knowledge of policy and incident response capabilities in the digital environment. To further strengthen its professional expertise, Asia Legal personnel participated in the Vietnam-UNIDIR Training Course on Cyber Policy and Capacity Building on the morning of September 8, 2026, in Hanoi.
What Did the Cybersecurity Training Course Cover?
The training course was organized by three organizations: the Ministry of Foreign Affairs , the Ministry of Public Security , and the United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR) .
The three-day program attracted representatives from government ministries, agencies, and businesses in the information technology sector.
The training focused on cybersecurity threats. It also addressed incident response capabilities and international frameworks for cyber resilience.
The program included scenario-based exercises simulating ransomware attacks targeting critical infrastructure.
Through the course, participants had the opportunity to update their knowledge of cyber policy and practice incident response. These activities also helped broaden their understanding of legal issues that may arise when handling cyber incidents.
Vietnam Strengthens International Cooperation on Cybersecurity
The training took place as Vietnam continued to strengthen international cooperation on cybersecurity and cybercrime prevention.
In October 2025, Vietnam hosted the Signing Ceremony of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime, also known as the Hanoi Convention.
Vietnam continues to cooperate with international organizations, including UNODC and UNIDIR. These efforts aim to promote cooperation and strengthen capacity in this field.
For the 2026-2028 period, Vietnam expressed its intention to further strengthen cooperation with UNIDIR. This cooperation contributes to exchanges on cybersecurity policy, capacity, and practices.
